On Monday afternoon Sarah had her 4 months check up. Her stats are:
weight: 11.1 pounds (10%)
height: 23.5 inches (40%)
head: 40.5 cm (50%)
She had to get 4 more shots and an oral medication. I hate the shots part!! She is always so sad. This time I gave her tylenol before we left so it would kick in before she got them. She still screamed for a little while but then she ate and took a little nap. I had to give her medicine every 6-8 hours for at least the first 24 hours because she would have some crying fits when it wore off. Changing her diapers is always interesting because her legs are so little, it is uncomfortable for her. The dr does not want her to start stage 1 foods until closer to 6 months because that's what Children's Hospital recommends. We can give her rice cereal in her bottle with the formula, but not alone. She still needs all the nutrients that are in the formula. The cereal is just cereal. We have given her the rice cereal a couple times and she still drinks it like it isn't in there. We had to fill out a questionnaire of where she is developmentally and she rated 50% overall on her development. The progress she has made in the past couple weeks is amazing. She turns her head to look at you when she is being talked to. She will tilt her head back if she hears noises behind her. She talks, laughs, coos, and squeals all the time. Sometimes she will be silent and all of a sudden she will let out a loud shriek. It scares us but once we notice she is playing we laugh at her. She is a lot more interactive with her toys which is awesome to see and of course that grip of hers is STRONG and sometimes painful. She will pull necklaces, hair, clothes, and if she gets a good grip on skin she will pinch and pull that too. Brandon has had his faced pulled on several times when she is burping. She is still eating during the day about every 3 hours (she can go a little longer if she is napping). But the big improvement is at night..... drum roll please.... she will sleep for 7, 8, even 9 hours during the night most nights. Brandon and I are sooooooo excited about this!!! I asked the dr why she still eats so often during the day and she said it is because she is going so long at night without eating that during the day she gets hungry more frequently. I don't mind feeding her more during the day if it means we can sleep more :) On average she eats 6 ozs per feeding now (sometimes a little more, sometimes less). She acts like she is teething a lot, but the dr said that they can act like that for months before they actually teethe. She is drooling more now and doesn't always know that she has to swallow her spit, so it will build up and then she will spit ALL of it out. It could soak her clothes pretty good sometimes! I think this about sums up the life of Sarah :) We are just enjoying every bit of her and having the opportunity right now to spend time with her and watch her grow.

She is just such a cutie! It's cool to see all the changes she goes through. Great that she sleeps through the night now; hope it stays that way. lol
